How to convert cups to grams
grams = cups × grams per cupExample: 2/3 cup of granulated sugar is 0.667 × 200 g = 133 g. For fractions, divide first: 2 ÷ 3 = 0.667.
Tablespoons and teaspoons work the same way: 1 tablespoon is 1/16 cup and 1 teaspoon is 1/48 cup. So 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour is 125 ÷ 16 ≈ 8 g, and 1 tablespoon of butter is 227 ÷ 16 ≈ 14 g.

Why weight beats volume
Two people filling the same cup with flour can end up 20% apart, depending on whether they spoon or scoop. Sugar and liquids are much more consistent. If a recipe works by weight, you'll get the same result every time; that is why professional and most European recipes list grams.
If you're converting a recipe for good, weigh each ingredient once with your usual cups, write the grams down, and use those from then on.
